New discoveries about CBD and its uses emerge all the time. But science still has a long way to go before fully understanding everything CBD can and can’t do. For now, there’s no evidence that CBD can help improve focus directly.
Some findings suggest CBD may be able to boost concentration indirectly. One 2014 study suggested that CBD can cause a wakeful feeling in some people. And another 2015 study found a reduction in anxiety behaviors in people with chronic conditions like PTSD.
CBD might be able to help your lack of focus in situations like these, where the cause is something like occasional stress from anxiety or fatigue. But this is not proven and is purely speculative at this point.
CBD directly affects the body’s endocannabinoid system in the brain and affects the body’s response to stress. According to a 2017 review, CBD interacts with these receptors in the brain which governs the body’s daily sleep/wake cycle. Taking CBD before bed might be a good way to calm the body down after a stressful day, resulting in more restful sleep.
The science of CBD is still in its infancy. So it’s not yet proven whether or not CBD can have a significant effect on improving your mood. There are ongoing studies about the effects CBD has on the brain’s interaction with serotonin. For now, CBD alone has no approved use for depression or anxiety.
But, there is some good news. Research says CBD might stimulate serotonin receptors in the brain. These receptors influence things like mood, aggression, appetite, and anxiety. Balancing serotonin levels in the brain is one method of treating depression which means CBD has some promise in the future.
A 2014 study with animals found that taking CBD created an anti-anxiolytic and antidepressant effect. And a 2018 study suggested that CBD may lower perceived stress and indirectly relieve symptoms of stress-related depression as a result.
But, these findings are yet inconclusive. CBD should never replace an existing prescribed plan for managing depression or anxiety. If you’re suffering from either condition, we recommend speaking to a doctor for advice about trying CBD.
Though CBD shows some promise in pain-relief and anti-inflammatory effects. There are yet no studies that show it's effective as a replacement for traditional medicine in humans.
CBD capsules work by interacting with the endocannabinoid systems (ECS) under our skin. This system helps regulate bodily functions like immuno and inflammation response which may indirectly help with aches and pains.
The effects of CBD vary from person to person since each ECS is unique. We recommend the only way to find out: trying one for yourself to see how it feels.
All your questions about CBD capsules answered.
The same organic CBD oil is in both products. Each product contains our specially grown CBD oil derived from farms in Colorado. The difference between the CBD capsules and CBD oil is how they're consumed. You mostly absorb CBD oil sublingually, a delivery system with a higher bioavailability. Meanwhile, CBD capsules are metabolized by your digestive system alone. CBD oil has a very earthy taste that may be polarizing for some (we think it's great!). We also offer flavor CBD oils if you don't like the flavor of hemp. Some people have a hard time taking CBD oil so capsules offer a convenient, tasteless way to take your daily CBD. Some products in our CBD Capsule line also contain other natural ingredients to enhance the results of the supplement. Our CBD oil does not contain any extra herbs or spices.
CBD still has no approved use as a sleep aid due to lack of long-term research. But, there are some promising results. In a 2019 CBD case study series, participants taking CBD showed some improvement in sleep scores over a 3-month period. There’s a huge demand for further study to find the exact reasons why, if these results can be replicated, and what an appropriate serving size might be. For now, we recommend adding our Sleep Capsules with melatonin to your nighttime routine to see how you feel.
